Emerging from the Experimental Music Technologies Lab at the University of Sussex, Emute Lab Instruments transforms cutting-edge academic research into hybrid digital-analogue instruments that push the boundaries of musical interaction.

With the launch of their first product, uSEQ – a Eurorack synth module controlled through live coding – Emute Lab Instruments needed a brand identity that could capture the experimental, future-facing nature of their work. A modular visual system was created, combining a clean, technical structure with bold, expressive graphics – capturing the dynamic relationship between code, sound, and performance.

From logo design and typographic systems to packaging, product visuals, and digital applications, the brand identity was designed to be flexible, scalable, and distinct – capable of adapting to new tools, ideas, and audiences as the product line expands.​
